Reminders (Part I)

I am doing this post as a reminder. I want to remind myself of who God created me to be. He created me to sing.

Every person has a list of people (or heroes) they look up to. These are some of the people that I admire the most:

Kim Walker-Smith

I love Kim! I love her because she is an extravagant worshiper. I love how she sings, and how she is so very in love with the Father. Her personality is beautiful. She is like a little girl singing to her Creator. Yay Kim!

Misty Edwards

Misty is so precious. She has such insight into God's Word. She sings out of the overflow of her relationship with Jesus. I love the respect she has for God's presence. Her songs are deep and life changing.

Brian & Jenn Johnson

I love these two! Brian is so creative, and a musical genius. I really like the music he writes. His wife, Jenn, is like a lioness leading worship. Her spontaneous songs are exquisite. Both of them are incredible & genuine worshipers.

Brooke Fraser

Brooke is so talented. Her voice is fascinating. Her music is so delightful. All of her lyrics have entered my heart in such a profound way. I love that not only is she a great artist and a worship leader, but she is also a humanitarian. This lady is awesome!

Leigh Nash

Leigh is amazing! I loved her in Sixpence None The Richer and I loved her solo projects as well. Her voice is so pure and inspires me to sing.

Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Ephesians 5:19b-20 NIV

Hope

And you, because of my blood covenant with you, I’ll release your prisoners from their hopeless cells. Come home, hope-filled prisoners! This very day I’m declaring a double bonus— everything you lost returned twice-over! ~ Zechariah 9:12 MSG

Darkness is real. And depression is too. I have felt it many times. You wake up, and there is no purpose, no sense of life... Nothing. But you wake up anyway. You try to survive. And then one day, everything changes. Hope comes to the scene, and little by little, life starts to change. You feel like you can smile, laugh, talk to your loved ones again, and do the things you used to enjoy. I believe hope is a miracle; a miracle from our Loving Father in heaven.

Jesus really wants us to live an abundant life. But when pain and sorrow comes to our lives, we feel that He has forgotten us. We feel abandoned, and hopeless. But God will always be God, and He will use all of our failures and weaknesses to bring glory to His name. We will learn something valuable in the desert. And we will be more beautiful than before. Jesus restores the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He sees us, and He is with us even when do not feel His presence.

Jesus is calling us out of darkness into His wonderful light. He will make all things new. All things.
